I grew up with my Dad's 80 tall South American Cichlid and 65 long South American community tank. He wasn't strict on the fish being South American, he just liked interesting fish. I always had a 5-gallon tank in my bedroom as a night light as a kid. We also had up to 3 Red Eared Sliders and a single Eastern Painted Turtle, 3 African Leopard Tortoises, Gouldian Finches, a Canary, a Double Yellow Headed Amazon Parrot, cats, and a dog. What a zoo! Needless to say, it rubbed off on me and in 2012 I inherited a neglected 29-gallon tank from a friend that I have used as a small community tank. Last year I bought an 80 gallon and have used that largely as a South American Cichlid tank using items I got from my dad when he passed.

My photographed 80 has a Green Severum, a Wild Tiger Severum, a Red Head Geophagus Tapajos, a Geophagus Deamon, a Flagtail Prochilodus, a Black Ghost Knife Fish, a Synodontis Eupterus, two Hoplo Catfish, two Siamese Algae Eaters, and three Denison Barb's.

Thanks to Ron and Aquarium Fish Depot for giving me the opportunity to truly enjoy this hobby with some fine specimens!
